Cheese Grits with Ham and Red-eye Gravy

Today I made cheese grits with ham and red-eye gravy from The Wheel of Fortune Collectable Cookbook from thr Mr. Food Test Kitchen. This is one of my go to recipes from this book. Its super easy and pretty quick to make. We usually get a ham steak from the grocery store when we make it, but it is a great recipe to use left over ham if you have some.

Pizza and a Margarita

I did not cook today, but we did an enjoy a Big New Yorker Pizza from Pizza Hut. Pizza Hut orginally came out with the Big New Yorker around 2000. It was discontinued for awhile and was brought back a year or two ago. When it was orginally out, we would get one on Saturday nights and then watch a show that was on tv at the time called The Others . I was so excited when Pizza Hut brought them back as it always reminded of those Saturday nights. The margarita recipe I used today was featured in Eat Like A Gilmore: Daily Cravings. An Unoffical Cookbook for Fans of Gilmore Girls, With 100 New Recipes by Kristi Carlson. The recipe was well written and easy to follow. I did only make half a recipe as the orginal recipe made 3-4 margaritas. I usually do not care for margaritas, but these were pretty good.
