ribs and banana pudding

Today I made ribs with a Memphis dry rub. I used the recipe for the Whopper Spareribs from The Castle Rock Kitchen: Wicked Good Recipes From the World of Stephen King.  The book gives the recipe for a homade Memphis dry rub that is reallly good and super easy to make. I served the ribs with some mac and cheese (just a box mix today) and made a banana pudding for dessert.
The banana pudding is a super simple desert to make, and is perfect for the hotter summer months. All you need is vanilla wafers, bananas, vanilla pudding, and Cool Whip. Layer everything in a cake pan beginning and endng with a layer of vanilla wafers.

Pizza and a Margarita

I did not cook today, but we did an enjoy a Big New Yorker Pizza from Pizza Hut. Pizza Hut orginally came out with the Big New Yorker around 2000. It was discontinued for awhile and was brought back a year or two ago. When it was orginally out, we would get one on Saturday nights and then watch a show that was on tv at the time called The Others . I was so excited when Pizza Hut brought them back as it always reminded of those Saturday nights. The margarita recipe I used today was featured in Eat Like A Gilmore: Daily Cravings. An Unoffical Cookbook for Fans of Gilmore Girls, With 100 New Recipes by Kristi Carlson. The recipe was well written and easy to follow. I did only make half a recipe as the orginal recipe made 3-4 margaritas. I usually do not care for margaritas, but these were pretty good.
